Did you know Hoboken residents can now choose 100% renewable energy at a rate lower than PSE&G’s basic generation service? 💡🌎 Since 2022, residents have saved over $980,000 by participating in the City of Hoboken’s Renewable Energy Program! Concord Energy Services is proud to be their energy consultant, helping manage this initiative and others across NJ. The Community Energy Aggregation program allows the city to purchase electricity for its residents, marking a significant step toward Hoboken’s goal of achieving net-zero energy by 2030. While the utility will continue to distribute electricity and remain the provider; residents will buy their electricity through the program’s awarded supplier. Project Spotlight: Dimension Energy – NY2 & NJ7 In partnership with Dimension Renewable Energy , this project spans nine sites across New Jersey and New York. These installations offer cost-effective solar solutions to residents. The 28.04-megawatt (MW) portfolio is projected to generate 37 gigawatt-hours (GWh) over its lifespan. This energy production will offset 26,000 metric tons of CO2 annually—equivalent to the emissions from burning nearly 30 million pounds of coal or sequestering carbon similar to over 56,000 acres of forest each year. @RenewableEnergyWorld reporting that community solar is advancing again in PA. Maybe it will finally pass this time? "On March 26, 2024, the Community Solar Act, HB 1842, was passed by vote of the Pennsylvania General Assembly and sent for consideration by the Senate. The Act establishes a third-party-owned community solar program in the Commonwealth. Under the legislation, community solar facilities must have a maximum nameplate capacity of 20 MW (AC) for facilities located on a brownfield or rooftop and 5 MW (AC) if located elsewhere. Community solar facilities cannot have any single offtaker with a subscription for more than 50% of the facility’s capacity or energy output, except for master-metered multifamily residential or commercial buildings. At least 50% of the facility’s subscribed capacity must be for subscriptions of 25 kW or less. Some or all of the facility’s generated electricity must be credited to subscribers’ electric bills to offset all charges except volumetric or demand-based distribution charges. Community solar facilities may be remotely located and are not required to provide energy serving on-site load." CPower Energy Brings Customer Flexibility to New York’s First-in-the-Country Distributed Energy Resource Integration Program.
